Our Society regularly organizes national and international scientific conferences, exhibitions and presentations on the relationship between psychoanalysis and the arts. We also collect, exhibit and digitally preserve artifacts and documents representing the history of psychoanalysis in Hungary.
In order to further promote research, scientific dialogue and psychoanalytic education both in English and Hungarian, our Society creates exhibitions and movies about the history of Hungarian psychoanalysis, the life and works of Ferenczi as well as of the inhabitants of the Ferenczi House.
Our Society has been organizing national and international conferences since 1989. The International Ferenczi Conference series was first launched by our Society, in 1993. This conference takes places every 2-3 years, in different locations, highlighting not only the life and works of Hungarian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Sandor Ferenczi, but also focusing on the impact of psychoanalysis and interdisciplinary fields in our ever changing world and its social challenges. These conferences have attracted audiences in the hundreds, and now include small, “studio conference” groups as well.

The "Psychoanalysis and the Arts" is a discussion series, collaboratively produced by the Sándor Ferenczi Society, the Attila József Society, and the Petőfi Museum of Literature. In accordance with Sándor Ferenczi's intellectual heritage, these presentations and the following discussions provide a unique opportunity to highlight and reflect on the interaction between psychoanalysis and the arts (literature, fine arts, film, and music). The series consists of 10 presentations annually, and it was launched in 2002. The program series was created and moderated by Anna Valachi (1948-2018) literary historian, until 2017. Since 2018, Mónika Takacs, literary historian, has been responsible for organizing and leading the programs.
